The Targa Florio. A gruelling circumnavigation of Sicily's tight and twisty road network, taking in death-defying mountain passes, tight and technical sections through villages and claustrophobic streets, all the time dodging the fanatical locals. All during the stifling heat of summer.
In 1973 Martini Porsche took an upgraded 911 RS to the event. The famous straight six power unit was re-tuned to produce more power, and the brake system was borrowed from the all-conquering 917.
In what became the last true Targa Florio, perhaps even the last great road race, the number "8" expertly driven by Herbert Muller and Gijs Van Lennep steered the 911 to victory, and the now famous Martini Porsche number 8 went down in racing folklore.
Celebrate this remarkable car with a new, exclusive t-shirt design from Iconic Cloth.
This subtle design takes inspiration from the door decals, the famous martini colours and that instantly recogniseable number "8". The unique design is finished by replicating the text that appears on the drivers' helmets.
Premium quality, 100% brushed cotton t-shirts are fully bespoke-branded to produce this must have for any Porsche historic motorsport fanatic.
